Chapter 5: The Mystery of Ivy

Ivy jumped from the balcony, landed on a branch of a giant-sized tree seated beside. Looking up through the leaves, she could make out the shape of Jenny, looking all over the places. She smiled and continued her way down with skillful and confidence steps. Feet on ground, she steadied herself with knees bent. She glided along the walls and disappeared into a dark alley. Her hands searched in the darkness for something. It took her only seconds to find a switch on the walls. She pressed it hard and a part of the wall ahead of head cracked, made a tiny cracking with the silence around her. Slowly moving upward, a path revealed. She made her way in with ducked head and released the switch. The ‘door’ closed behind her slowly as the pressure on the switch lightened.
Lights flickered on when the ‘door’ closed tightly without a single gap behind her. She continued all the way and reached a junction. She turned to her right and saw a room. Fishing a key inside her pockets, she inserted the key into the lock below the handle while trying to catch a glimpse of shadow behind but saw nothing. The key fitted in perfectly and turned with a slight force. A click sounded. She stepped into her room and locked it from within. She put the key on a table and turned on the desk lamp at a corner. The lamp came to life and covered the room with bright light. A book was placed in the centre of the table, a single bed placed near the desk. She sat down on the chair in front of the table and flipped open the pages of the book. It was her journal. Recorded all her researched results and the journeys she been through. She opened a drawer on her right side and took a pen.
She started to write, ‘4th of May, Saturday. I finally found one of the key holders! Her name was Jenny, the only daughter of a noble family. She was the key holder of Water, and owned the key, Sapphire Staff. It seems I am one step closer now. I had been searching the international libraries about Ruby Prism, Prism Palace and its location. So far I only know it was located in one of the island in Pacific Ocean. Tomorrow I will search more about it. Signed, Ivy. Time: 3.45a.m.’ She rested the pen and flipped closed the book. She rested her back flat on her back and stared at the ceiling. A voice kept echoed in her mind, “Ivy, listen to me… You… you must stop… stop the Ruby Prism from activating… It… it will… will destroy the whole… whole mankind… She… She must be stop… You are my… my only hope… Please… Pro… promise me… “The voice tailed away. Ivy closed her eyes, replayed the voice in her mind. Yes, she must stop her.

Ruby Prism Chapter 4: Identity Of Ivy

Jenny woke with sudden. She was still in her bedroom, facing the box and the balcony door. The box was still glowing with moon light beam. She sat up uneasily. Why would this box glow? What kind dream did I had? Jenny suddenly remembered the water human last word, Open your eyes, search in the box, your power will return to you. Cautiously, she held out her hand and took the box. Carefully, she tried to lift up the lid, and succeed. A strong blue beam light shoot out from the box and covered the whole room. Soon, the light faded and revealed a staff. The staff was laid neatly in the box; beneath the staff was a soft blue color cushion. The staff was topped with a sapphire color stone, the body of the staff was white, 2 silver color plate on each end. A pink swirling line covered the body. At the sight of the staff, it reminded Jenny of Ivy’s pendant. Jenny held the staff softly, and noticed the staff was light, nice for gripping.
A knock was heard from the balcony door. Every sense of Jenny stiffened up. Who could it be? Jenny braved herself and unlocks the balcony door. To her surprise, it was Ivy. “Good evening, Miss Jenny. Sorry to bothered you on such late night. Due to my information, you had found out your fate and obtained your power. Am I right?” said Ivy before Jenny had the chance to open her mouth and walked straight in towards Jenny’s bed. Ivy immediately recognized the box, and turned to face Jenny and her staff. “So, you had the Dream. You should have known about your fate, as key holder. Now, I will explain to you about your job. Your job, are to guide the key safely to the Prism Palace. You must ensure the key do not fall into wrong hand. You and I will travel together to Prism Palace after we gathered the other key holders. Any question?” said Ivy and stared straight into Jenny’s eyes. “Yes. Where is this Prism Palace? What is the use of the key? Who are the other key holders you mean?” asked Jenny and sat on her bed. She does not feel any danger from this lady. Her heart tells her this lady could be trusted and would not harm her although her brain told her the opposite thing. She chooses to trust her heart.
Ivy sat beside her and said, “Prism Palace was hidden in the centre of Misty Forest. Misty Forest was located on an unknown island which not noted down on world map. The keys were used to active the Ruby Prism. The exact function of Ruby Prism was unknown. But, there was a prophecy stating that if Ruby Prism was activated by the person had an evil heart, it would be the end of the world. I am still researching about this Ruby Prism. The other key holders left were Sun, Wind, and Fire. I am Wood, guardian of wood element. My pendant was named Emerald Pendant. It contains the power of wood element. You must join me in my journey, in order to save the world.” Said Ivy excitedly and stood up. She embraced the balcony and said, “I would find you again, Jenny. Think it over. The fate of this world is on our hand,” she turned and looked at Jenny, and then she jumped.

Ruby Prism Chapter 3: Fate as a Key Holder

Jenny took a careful sip of her favorite hot cocoa. She examined the box over and over again. After she had the usual monthly dinner with her parent, she had locked herself in her room. Her curiosity couldn’t stop her from thinking about the box. She finished her drink in half an hour. She informed her nanny to clean it up and returned to her bed with the box on her palms. She placed the box carefully beside her bed, on an end table near the balcony. She lifted up the curtain and allowed the moon light to slip in. She needed the moon light to company her sleep every night. This night was no exception. She changed into her pajamas and washed her face. She slipped into her blanket and faced the box. Slowly, she falls asleep while looking at the box. The moon light beam started flowing in higher and higher, finally reached the box. The moon light beam concentrate on the box and the water shape symbol started to glow.
She had a very strange dream. This dream had changed her life, turning her world upside down. She saw her reflection everywhere. It’s a place full of water. She couldn’t know which side is up, down, left, or right. All she sees was water. She continued walked forward, towards the sound where some dripping water was heard. She saw a waterfall. The water flow was slow and steady, unlike the normal waterfall she seen in her world. There was an eagerness telling her to touch the water surface. She braved herself and touched the screen of steady water surface. A wave form from the centre of the lake. A human shape was formed from the water. The water human floated towards Jenny. The shape was getting clearer the each step it took. When the water human reached in front of Jenny, the shape can be made out clearly. It was another Jenny.
“Welcome, Jenny. You are here finally.” Spoke the water human. Her voice was the same as Jenny. Jenny spoke calmly as she usual did, “Where am I? Who are you? What is the purpose you brought me here?” The water human laugh a bit and started spoke, “First of all, you are in a world made of water. Here was the origin of water. Second, I am you. You are me. We are both the same people. But I am you which hidden deep within you. Thirdly, you are here because of your fate. Your fate, as a key holder.” “What fate? What do you mean by key holder? You are me? I don’t understand.” Asked Jenny once again. The water human continued, “Your fate were determined since you are born. You were chosen as the key holder of Sapphire Staff, the power of water element. Yes, I am you. I am the master of water element. I am born with you, but, I am hidden until, you finally discovered the sapphire staff. Where the staff will be? Open your eyes, search in a box, your power will return to you,” answered the water human and faded into the water. Jenny’s surrounding started to fade at the same time.

Ruby Prism Chapter 2: The mysterious man

“Fate? Key holder? What are you talking about?” said Jenny and stared straight into Ivy eyes. She was trying to test Ivy whether she was lying or not. But, Jenny can see nothing. Ivy eyes does not show her any emotion. It is nothing within these green eyes. Ivy chuckled and said, “You will know it very soon.” At the time Ivy ended her sentences, a wind breeze blew and Ivy faded. Right in front of Jenny eyes. “What the…?” Jenny stepped forward few steps, look around and below her balcony. No sight of Ivy. “Strange…” said Jenny to her own. Shook her head few times, she turned back into her room and locked the balcony door. She continued to dress herself up. At 3pm, Jenny met up with Danny in front of Pearl Mall. Pearl Mall is the biggest and most famous mall in the whole country. It contains almost everything. Clothes, shoes, spas, saloons, arcade shops, markets, you name it.
“Wow, you are pretty as usual.” Teased Danny. He was standing below a tree, wearing a striped collar shirt and both hands inside his long jeans pocket. “Less talk, more walk.” Said Jenny and changed her direction towards to mall instead to Danny. Danny laughed a little and catches up with her. Danny’s laugh had caught several girls nearby attention. The girls stared at the pair full with jealousy. A man wearing a cloak knocked Jenny’s side.
The man’s cloak had covered his eyes, showing his nose and mouth only. Even his hands were hidden beneath the cloak. When the man spoke, his voice was deep and rough, “I am sorry, miss. Terribly sorry.” “It’s ok, mister. I’m fine.” Replied Jenny. When she tried to walk away, the man held her hand, soft but strong. “Wait. Perhaps I could get you something as my apology? Ahhh… I know. A beautiful crafted staff for a beautiful lady. How about that?” Asked the man. Then he held out a box under his cloak and handed it to Jenny. “No, thanks. It’s ok, really.” Said Jenny and pushed the box back to the man. “I insisted, miss.” The man put the box into Jenny palm and quickly walked away. Soon, the man disappeared into the crowd and out of sight. Jenny turned to look at the box on her palms after failed locating the mysterious man. It’s a rectangular box made of wood. Some leaves decorated each edge. A flower blossom in the centre of the box. A water drop shape is within the blossom flower. An unique lock caught Jenny’s eyes. The lock does not have a key hole. It was decorated with a water drop shape symbol. Jenny tried opening it several times with no success. Same goes with Danny. What is in this box? How do I open this? Think Jenny.
